Report on the 4th International Summit on Hurricanes and Climate Change

I recently travelled to the 4th International Summit on Hurricanes and Climate Change (a partially RPI-sponsored event), in Kos Greece, on 13-18 June, 2013. Reported here is a brief synopsis of some of the talks of relevance. I don’t propose to delve into great detail, nor provide an exhaustive list of all talks. If you have a particular area of interest, we would welcome a discussion. In addition, the Kos trip was a great opportunity to catch up with several Members, as well as former and prospective member companies. I was able to formally introduce myself to some of the Members in London on my way back to Bermuda. I also had the opportunity to establish contact with personnel of the OASIS Loss Modelling Framework, with a view to agreeing on some logistics surrounding getting our scientist datasets into a working risk model platform. I am happy to discuss any of these aspects of this trip with you informally, or prepare more details for your next in-house event.
